Brownfields – Its History & Future in Florida. The Florida Brownfields Act was adopted in 1997. In its 23 years, it has been amended multiple times. Increases in Voluntary Cleanup Tax Credit (VCTC) funding have also occurred separately on numerous occasions which have maintained viability for the site rehabilitation incentive. Through the FBA Legislative Committee and key members, the FBA has been active since the Act’s adoption in molding the law to fit the needs of its members.
On this panel, members of the FBA Legislative Committee will look back at the law and how it has changed over time. Has it really kept up with the changes in need? What could be improved? What are the top 3 challenges to amending a law?
Join FBA Legislative Committee Co-Chairs Michael Sznapstajler and Joe Ullo as they team with others in telling this story of FBA’s contribution to the laws of Florida which impact FBA and its membership. The Legislative Committee would also like to have an open discussion about amendments that should be considered.
